Thomas Heinsius, 15, son of Russell Heinsius of Solon and Mrs. Ada Simon of Anamosa, died June 30 at University hospital in Iowa City. His death was due to injuries received in a fall from a tree at his farm home near Anamosa June 24.

The youth suffered severe spinal injuries in the fall and had been paralyzed from the shoulders down. He fell about 20 feet to the ground after stepping on a rotted limb which gave way while he was trimming a tree.

Young Heinsius was transferred from a hospital at Anamosa to University hospital June 25.

He was born in Mercy hospital, Iowa City, Dec. 1, 1943, and lived at Cedar Bluff until going to the farm near Anamosa about 4 years ago. He was a sophomore at Morley high school.

Survivors in addition to his parents, include 2 brothers, James and Charles Heinsius, both of Anamosa, and a half-sister, Ruth Ann Heinsius, of Solon. Also surviving are the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Achenbach, of Tipton, and the paternal grandmother, Mrs. Ruth Heinsius of Solon.
