Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Johnson, 71, were held May 8 with the Rev. A. C. Long in charge. Burial was at Red Oak Grove cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ralph Werling, Ralph Gaul, Guy Maurer, Everett Chamberlain, Ralph Yule and Jack Shrope. Mrs. Russell Willer and Mrs. Henry Walters were in charge of flowers.

Margaret Eloise, daughter of Mary Meyer and Henry Sailor, was born on a farm south of Lisbon Dec. 4, 1877. She attended school at Lisbon and was a member of the second class of nurses that graduated from the school of nursing at Iowa City in 1901.

She was a nurse until her marriage to Oliver S. Johnson at Cedar Rapids Sept. 13, 1910. Her husband was a prominent auctioneer throughout the mid-west. They made their home in Tipton and Mrs. Johnson continued to live here after her husband's death.

Mrs. Johnson was a charter member of the Child Conservation League and a member of the Eastern Star and chapter D.Y. of the P.E.O. sisterhood. She was a member of the Methodist church and served for many years as treasurer of the church. She was also a member of the Philathean class of the Sunday school.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dec. 13, 1927, and a daughter, Olivene Sybil, in infancy.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. H. S. (Laurel) Moore, Montezuma; 3 step children, George F. Johnson, Lisbon; Alex O. Johnson, Gibson, and Mrs. Harry (Esther) Nephew, Tipton; 3 step-grandchildren and 4 step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Carl Sailor, Lisbon, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Edith Sailor, Burlington.

Mrs. Johnson died of a heart attack while visiting at the home of Mrs. James Britcher May 6.
