Mrs. Verona Elizabeth Ervin, 61, of Atalissa died Sept. 17 at nursing home at West Liberty, after an illness of several months.

She was born Sept. 13, 1898 at West Branch, a daughter of John and Mary E. George King. she was married to Carl Ervin, Nov. 6, 1918 at Downey. Mrs. Ervin was a member of Zion Lutheran church of Atalissa and the Missionary society of that church.

Surviving are her husband; 3 sons, John and Richard of Wilton Junction and Robert Ervin, Atalissa; one daughter, Mrs. William DeWinter of Rock Island; 3 sisters, Bertha King, Atalissa; Mrs. A. P. Brower, Clinton and Mrs. R. O. Marsteller, West Liberty; and 12 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, a brother and a grandson.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Zion Lutheran church at Atalissa. Burial was at Oak Ridge cemetery, West Branch.
