Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Jennings were held Aug. 11. Mrs. Jennings died Aug. 9 at the Ralston Nursing home in Tipton following a long illness.

Bertha May, daughter of Sarah Nebergall and William Dotson, was born near Tipton, Aug. 30, 1880.

She received her education in the rural schools of Cedar county and her normal training in the Wilton Academy.

Nov. 27, 1901, she was united in marriage to Arthur E. Jennings. To this union were born three sons and one daughter. They started farming in Cedar county and farmed until 1922 at which time they moved to Tipton.

Mrs. Jennings was a member of the First Methodist church which she attended regularly until her health no longer permitted. She was also a member of the Helping Hand Rebecca Lodge and the Pythian Sisters and Past Chiefs.

Those preceeding her in death were her husband, Arthur E., one daughter, Mabel Marie, two brothers and one sister.

Surviving are three sons, Mearl, Forrest and Herbert, all of Tipton; two brothers, two sisters, 14 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
