Leonard W. Kingsbury, 73, of West Branch died Monday morning at Mercy hospital in Iowa City, where he had been a patient three weeks.

The son of Joseph and Ida Leonard Kingsbury, he was born on a farm near Springdale, June 10, 1884. He was educated at Springdale high school and the University of Iowa. He was married to Elsie Maralman at Chicago, Ill., Sept. 14, 1912, and was an electrical engineer in that city until coming to the home farm northeast of West Branch 22 years ago. He was a member of Golden Rule Masonic lodge at Rochester, and Kaaba Shrine at Davenport.

He is survived by his wife and three children, Charles and David of West Branch, and Alice Jane Thomas of Bremerton, Wash.; two grandchildren; two brothers, Howard and Dick Kingsbury of Muscatine; one sister, Agnes King of Detroit, Mich., besides his mother, Mrs. Ida Kingsbury of Detroit, who will be 100 years old in August.

Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. today at the Rochester Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. Richard Hostetler, with burial in the Emblem cemetery at Elmhurst, Ill. The Golden Rule lodge gave the Masonic service.
