Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Wilton Junction for Earl T. Hillyer, 71, life resident of the Wilton Junction community, who died at 3 p.m. Monday at his home following a two-week illness. The Rev. Richard McEuen, pastor of the Presbyterian church, will have charge. Interment will be at the Oakdale cemetery.

The son of Theodore and Jennie Whitmer Hillyer, he was born Sept. 28, 1886, in Sugar Creek township, Cedar county. His marriage to Maude McCroskey took place Dec. 2, 1911, at Tipton. He was a member of the Presbyterian church. His occupation was farming.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, Harold and Raymond Hillyer, Bennett, and LaMoyne Hillyer, Wilton Junction; four daughters, Mrs. Gladys Paustian, Durant, Mrs. Lila Petersen, Wilton Junction, Mrs. Lorraine McSwiggin, Lone Tree, and Mrs. June Miller, Davenport; one brother, Galen Hillyer, Tipton; one sister, Mrs. Daisy Ousterhoudt, Sigourney, and 16 grandchildren.

Three sisters and one brother preceded him in death.
