Edith Rosanna Monk was born May 25, 1875, in Cedar county in the territory known as York Prairie. She was the daughter of Simon and Francis (Ingram) Monk. She passed away at a nursing home in Tipton at the age of 80 years, 1 months and 10 days. She had been in failing health for several years. She spent her entire life in the Tipton community.

She was united in marriage to Alfred F. Reeder on Oct. 31, 1895. One daughter, Eleanor, and one son, Donald, was born to this union.

She was a member of the Methodist church of Tipton and was a devoted and faithful Christian.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alfred, on Oct. 26, 1944, and by her daughter, Eleanor, on Feb. 9, 1940.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her son Donald and his wife of Tipton, her sister Mrs. Emma Snitkay of Belle Plaine, her son-in-law Edward Fitch of Tipton, seven grandchildren, Wayne and Richard Reeder of Tipton, Mrs. Deleen Burhop of Lowden, Mr. Alfred Fitch of Denver, Colo., Duane, Charles and Donald Fitch of Tipton, and several great-grandchildren, besides a host of friends and neighbors.

Funeral services were conducted July 6, 1955, with the Rev. A. C. Long officiating and burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Sheets & Dahn funeral home.
