Arthur Garvin, son of Thomas and Phoebe Garvin, was born at Nichols, Iowa, August 7, 1899, and departed this life at the parental home near Springdale, Dec. 12, 1929.

At the age of eight months a severe case of membraneous croup left him an asthma sufferer throughout his life, until death released him. At the age of eleven years he was baptized into the Catholic church.

Besides his mother and father, he leaves to mourn his loss one sister, Mrs. Charles Koser of West Branch; several uncles and aunts, nephews and nieces.

Prayer services were held at the family home at 1:00 o'clock Saturday afternoon, with funeral services at the Friends church at West Branch at 2:00 o'clock, conducted by the pastor, Guy W. Harvey. Burial was made in the cemetery at West Branch.
