13 September 1888 - The Local Record

DIED At her home in West Branch, on Sunday Sept. 9th, 1888, Hannah C., wife of Alfred F. Burden, aged 48 years and 23 days.

The deceased had been in frail health for several months and thinking a short visit might prove beneficial she went to see her brothers in the western part of this state, but while there she was taken worse and came immediately home when she took her bed from which all the tenderest care of loving friends and most skillful medical aid was unable to avail the hope for recovery, and after about one week's suffering she passed quietly over the river.

She leaves a husband and seven children to mourn the loss of a loving mother and affectionate companion.

The funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Her brothers, Rob't. Coffee of Hardin county, and Isiaiah Coffee, of Marshall county were present.
