Agnes Elmina Bell, daughter of John and Betsy Bell, was born at Johnstown, Pa., Dec. 22, 1850, and passed from this life at the home of her son, Guy, at Amelia, Neb., April 23, at the age of seventy-seven years, four months and one day.

When a small child she came with her parents to Cedar county, this state, where she lived until her marriage to Nelson Wright, Feb. 2, 1866. The family home was in Cedar county for several years, when they came to Sac county. They resided on a farm six miles southeast of where Odebolt now is. Vail was their nearest town at that time, and for a number of years they endured the hardships of pioneer life, and reared their family.

In 1903, Mr. and Mrs. Wright gave up the home and went to live with their children. Mr. Wright passed away Feb. 25, 1907, at the home of his son, N. A. Wright, at Atkinson, Neb.

Mrs. Wright united with the United Evangelical church in 1894, and tho in her later years she has not been able to attend the services of the church she remained true to her faith.

She joined Col. Goodrich W.R.C. in the early days of its organization, and kept up her membership through the years. She was always an honored member.

Mrs. Wright was a good woman, one who was esteemed by all who knew her. A loved and honored mother, her place cannot be filled in the hearts and homes of her family, and her death is a great loss.

She was the mother of eight children, three of whom, Joseph Wesley, William L., and Clarence E. have preceded her in death. Those left to mourn are: N. A. of Broken Bow, Neb.; Mrs. Elsie McCaslin, of Arcadia, Neb., Ernest L. of Madrid, Neb.; Guy E. of Amelia, Neb.; and Frank of Long Pine, Neb. Two sisters and three brothers are left: Mrs. Nora Hawley and Mrs. Georgia McCarthy of Sioux City, Leo and William Bell of Seattle, Wash., and A. E. Bell of Mason City. She also leaves twenty grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

All of the children were present for the funeral, which was held at Odebolt, Iowa, also Miss Arlene Wright of Amelia, Mrs. N. A. Weight of Broken Bow, Merle Nagel, son of Mrs. McCaslin of Arcadia, Neb., Mrs. Clarence Wright and son Robert of Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. E. A. D. Bell of Mason City, Mrs. J. W. Wright, Mr. and Mrs. James Heacock and son James of Kinglsey.
