Pauline Lindemann 1841-1916

Mrs. Pauline Lindemann was born in Hamburg, Germany on the 8th of December, 1841. Having received Christian baptism in early infancy, she was nutured in the doctrines of the Lutheran church, duly confirmed at the age of 14. At twenty-five years of age she was married to Gustave Lindemann. Their marriage led to the birth of nine children, five of whom survive. Mr. Lindemann died March 2, 1904. They spent the first twenty-six years of their married life in Germany. In 1892 they came to America and lived in the state of Missouri one year, coming to this community in 1898.

Mrs. Lindemann had been ailing for some time, but seemed to be gaining until a few days ago, when she was taken suddenly worse and on the morning of March 1st she breathed her last at the age of 74 years, 2 months and 23 days.

She is survived by her brother in Chicago and by her five children--Gustave, Louis, Meta, Emil and Paul.

The funeral services, conducted by Rev. Herman H. Bruecker, pastor of the Zion Lutheran church of Iowa City, occurred at Oasis Friday, March 3, 1916. Interment in the Oasis cemetery.
