DIED. Sunday morning, April 4th, 1886 at his home in Centerdale, Iowa, Benjamin Pearson, aged 68 years, 4 months and 20 days.

For several months his health seemed to be breaking down though only three days before his death he attended to his usual duties in the store. Uncle Benny as he was familiarly called by nearly every one who knew him, was a man of sterling worth prompt and attentive in business and always willing and ready to help those around him in trouble kind and indulgent to all. He believed fully in doing unto others as you would have them do unto you. Having seen the rough side of life as an early settler of this country, he always had a tender feeling for those struggling to improve their lot by honest endeavors. He lived an honest and upright life and died triumphant in a glorious victory. The deceased was born in Miami county, Ohio in 1817, was married in 1848 to Sabina Hamer. After a companionship of over 43 years he leaves an affectionate wife, one daughter and two sons to mourn his loss.
