26 June 1919 - West Branch Times

George Adam Knease was born Aug. 28, 1862, near Philadelphia, Pa. As a seven year old boy, he came to Iowa with his parents, where he grew to manhood on the home farm 2 1/2 miles northwest of West Branch. On this farm he lived and worked until ten years ago, when with his mother and sister he moved to West Branch.

Three years ago his health failed, since that time all that medical skill and nursing could do were done without avail, he passed away quietly on Saturday evening, June 2, 1919.

George lived his entire life in this vicinity and was of a reserve and retiring disposition, and loved his home better than anywhere else. He was a good neighbor, honest and straight in all his dealings, giving everyone their just dues.

He was a devoted son and brother and leaves to sadly mourn, a mother and sister in the home and a brother, Henry, and family in Iowa City. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen.

Funeral services were held in the home, conducted by Rev. Clemmensen Tuesday morning and he was laid to rest beside his father in the beautiful West Branch cemetery. The entire community extend their sympathies to the bereaved ones.
