Mary Etta Kelly was born July 17th, 1829, in Columbiana county, Ohio, and was married to Amos Bailey, the 24th of September, 1840. Five children were born to them, two of whom are living. They came to Cedar county, Iowa, April 17, 1851. Her husband died in 1851.

She was married to G. C. Sanger November 11, 1853. Five children were born to them, of whom two are living--Mrs. W. H. Kennedy of Springdale, Iowa, and Theo. H. Sanger, White Lake, S.D.

She removed with her husband from Cedar county, Iowa, to White Lake, S.D. in 1882. She was formerly a member of the German Babtist church, but upon removing to White Lake, she united with the Presbyterian church, of which she was a member until death.

She fell asleep in Jesus at 6 a.m. Aug. 19th, 1897. Her last words were Oh how happy I feel.
