Intelligence has been received here of the death of Timothy Gruwell, which occurred at his home in Republican City, on Saturday evening, April 10th, 1897. His age was 78 years, 3 months and 10 days. He leaves an aged companion and five children who were all present at the funeral of their father except Dr. Wilson Gruwell of Portland, Ore. Deceased was the brother of Aaron Gruwell and Alice Hawley of this city, one other sister, Charity Embree, who resides in Washington, are all now left of a family of thirteen raised in the woods of Stark county, during the pioneer days of Ohio. During the 50's they nearly all moved to Iowa, most of them settled in Cedar Co. But the families have since become some what scattered. The deceased lived for several years five miles north of this city.

The immediate cause of his death was apoplexy produced by injuries he received from an accident a few weeks ago.
