DIED--Monday, June 19th, 1893, at the home of her daughter Mrs. Hannah Varney in this city. Ann Heacock aged 71 years, 9 mos. and 8 days. She was the daughter of Timothy and Alice Gruwell, was born in Stark county Ohio was married in 1888 to John Heacock who departed this life five years ago. They moved to Iowa in 1855. She was the mother of 12 children all of whom survive but two. She had been in failing health for several years and for some time entirely helpless. She bore her afflictions patiently and was indeed an affectionate Christian mother, in the highest sense of the term. Seven of her children were present at the obsequies which was held yesterday, five sons and one grand-son acting as pall bearers. Her remains were laid to rest by the side of her husband's in the Honey Grove cemetery.
