12 January 1893 - West Branch Times

DIED At her home at West Branch, Iowa 1st month, 2nd, 1893. Sarah M. Heald aged 56 years 10 mos and 10 days.

Deceased was born at Lexington Stark County Ohio, 2nd month 22nd 1836 and came to Cedar county Iowa with her father's family in 1851 and was married 8 mo 28th 1853 to Wilson Heald who came from Columbiana Co., Ohio to Cedar county in 1850. She leaves surviving her, her husband and six children, Luella Heacock of Kingsley, Iowa. F. H. Heald, Mrs. Ida Hobinshell and Mrs. Ann M. Minthorn in or near Elsinore, Cal. Charles Heald of Washington state and a little daughter Alice at home with her father. She was an affectionate, considerate helpful wife and mother and a kind, charitable unselfish friend and neighbor. She suffered greatly but patiently as an invalid for a number of years, yet her passing though expected, was a bereavement felt by the whole community, as was testified by their attendance, on an inclement day at the funeral services at Friends Meeting house at West Branch, she having been a life long consistent exemplary member of that Society. Her life gives assurance that all is well with her but the loss to the children and especially to the devoted husband of nearly 40 years can only be known by experience.
