Ardis Roberdee, the jeweler, who has been located in Gill's drug store, was stricken in his rooms Tuesday night and is in a critical condition.

It seems that he and John Christee had started to drive to Iowa City early in the evening, but before they had gone far Mr. Roberdee complained of his head hurting and they returned home.

When Community Club adjourned it was raining and Ardell Armstrong decided to spend the night with Roberdee instead of walking home in the mud. When he turned on the light he found his host unconscious on the floor.

Ardell at once summoned Sherman Yeets and Dr. Leech and telephoned Mr. Roberdee's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Roberdee of Cedar Rapids. They arrived on the early morning train and accompanied by Dr. Leech, took their son home on the 8:15 train.

He had not regained consciousness when Dr. Leech returned home yesterday afternoon and the physicians were unable to predict regarding him or to give a definite diagnosis, except that it seemed to have been a hemorage of the brain and that his condition is very critical.

Mr. Roberdee was injured while in the service having been thrown from a cavalry horse. It was necessary at that time to remove a section of the skull and he was in a serious condition for many weeks. His ultimate apparent recovery, however, left him without the natural use of his lower limbs and he was obliged to walk with the aid of a cane. Whether his attack Tuesday night is an indirect result of the accident or not is a question.
