Margaret Preston was born in Columbiana county, Ohio, April 7, 1856. She came with her parents to Iowa in 1857, when only one year old, where she lived till her death. She had a desire to embrace the Catholic faith a short time before her death, and was baptized by Rev. Father Kneble. She passed peacefully away in the home that had been so dear to her all through and since the days of her childhood. Through her severe suffering she was very patient, and awaited without a murmer the hour of release when she could receive the reward which, we believe, the just and all-merciful God gave to her, and admitted her to that happy home prepared for all those who were as innocent as Margaret was. Her body was laid to rest beside her mother on Friday, Sept. 19, 1913.

The funeral took place Friday, Sept. 19 from the St. Joseph's church, Rev. Father Kneble of Tipton, officiating. The interment was in the Springdale cemetery.
