Minnie Rummells 1883-1921

Minnie Blanch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rummells, was born in Johnson county, Iowa, August 18, 1883, and passed away in the hospital at Iowa City, Nov. 16, 1921, at the age of 38 years, 2 months and 29 days. She was born and grew to womanhood on the farm that is at present the family home. Jan. 18, 1906, she united with the Baptist church at Downey, Iowa, and has been a faithful and consistent member. Minnie endeared herself to all who knew her by her cheerful and loving disposition. A great part of her life has been spent in tender ministry to invalids which has told more of her beautiful character than mere words can express.

She leaves to mourn the loss of a daughter and sister, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rummells, six sisters, Mrs. Anna Watters of Downey, Mrs. Wilbur Watters of Iowa City, Mrs. Jake Siler of West Branch, and Lila, Clara and Leola, who are at home; one brother, little Frankie, preceeded his sister to the Heavenly Home, and the other brothers are William and Bert Rummells both of West Branch, and George and Floyd at home. The friends of her life time unite with the relatives in a common sorrow. The funeral service was held at the Rummells home southwest of West Branch Friday afternoon. The music for the service and also the pallbearers were from Downey. The Rev. Glenn Rowley of the Methodist church at West Branch was the officiating minister. Interment was in the beautiful West Branch cemetery.
