Funeral services for Chas. Pierce, 62 years old, were held at the M.E. church at West Liberty, Monday afternoon, with burial at Springdale, thus returning a longtime resident of the community, for his eternal rest.

Mr. Pierce formerly lived on a farm near Springdale, later moving to Colorado, residing near Denver, where his death occurred, the body being shipped back to West Liberty. His wife died several years ago, but six grown children survive. He was a member of the Friends church in earlier years, later affiliating with the Methodists. He was also a member of the Masonic fraternity.

The death of Charles K. Pierce occurred in Denver, Colorado, last week, where he had been sick for a number of weeks. Mr. Pierce and his family were former residents of Iowa township living two miles east of Springdale for a number of years. Later he moved to near West Liberty, where he remained a few years. His body was brought here for burial on Monday afternoon and laid by the side of his wife who passed away while they resided in this community. He is survived by four daughters, two sons and many relatives and friends. The sympathy of the community is extended to those who are bereaved.
