Funeral services were held this morning (Thursday) at ten o'clock, in the Conservative Friends meeting house, for Howard H. Michener, with burial in the West Branch cemetery. His death occurred Monday afternoon in a hospital at Minneapolis. Death occurred after a short illness, of complications of heart and kidney trouble.

He was the second son of John and Lucina Michener, pioneers of this township and prominent in all good works of Springdale and West Branch communities over many years. His sister Eva died at Washington, D.C., a year ago, being brought to West Branch for burial, and there remains now, of the original family, only Charles Michener, who resides at Denver, Colo, and who came Wednesday to perform the last services for his brother.

Howard Michener was engaged in different kinds of business in West Branch and later in Cedar Rapids, and the past few years he has been a commercial traveler. His daughter Edith is now married and lives in New York, and his son Edward is in California.
