Funeral services for Mary Frances Mason, 74, Lisbon, were held Aug. 3 at Sheets and Son Funeral Home in Tipton, with the Rev. Dale Marshall officiating. Pallbearers were Charlie Albaugh, Robert Jones, Claude Oler, Dan Hickman, Terry Oler and Dean Stevenson. The organist was Betty Vitense. Burial was in the Mason cemetery in Cedar Bluff.

Mrs. Mason died unexpectedly July 31 at Mercy hospital in Iowa City.

She was born Aug. 9,. 1909 in Solon to Joseph and Anna Lorence Benesh. She attended the rural Cass township school. She married William J. Mason Jan. 27, 1927 in Cedar Rapids.

Mrs. Mason was a homemaker and spent her life in the Cedar Bluff area.

She was a member of the King's Daughters and Friendship Circle.

Mrs. Mason is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. Sherman (Darlene) Bloome, Bettendorf, and Mrs. Richard (Dorothy) Stevenson, Moline, Ill.; 2 sisters, Mrs. Lester (Clara) Chittick and Mrs. Elma Steadman, both of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Edward Benesh, Cedar Rapids; 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a grandchild and one great-grandchild.
