Word came last week to Mrs. Ed Moore of the death of her aunt, Mrs. Myra Bean, widow of Jacob Bean, which occurred Friday, Dec. 27, at the home of her daughter Erma at Wichita, Kans.

Mrs. Bean, who was past seventy years of age, has been in poor health for some years, and her death followed an illness of two weeks with bronchial pneumonia. The funeral was held at Anthony, Kans., Sunday, and she was buried beside her husband, whose death occurred several years ago.

Mr. and Mrs. Bean and their family resided at West Branch for many years, when they owned the farm on the south edge of town, now owned by W. H. Crew. One little daughter, Thyrsa, died during their residence here. Mrs. Bean is survived by four children: Mrs. Lelo Irene Roper of Des Moines, Iowa; Zella, who is also married and resides in Texas; Vernon, who is located at Anthony, Kans., and Mrs. Erma Doty, at whose home Mrs. Bean passed away.
