Mrs. Charles James, 29, of 419 No. Dubuque street, Iowa City, died early Sunday morning at University hospital, following an extended illness. Funeral services were held at the Beckman funeral home at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, with the Rev. W. C Keeler in charge. Burial was in West Branch. She is survived by her husband, a medical student in the university, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Kemp, of West Branch; three sisters, Mrs. Griffith Wright of Pierre, S.D., and Mrs. Philip Krouth of Iowa City; and Betty Jane of West Branch and a brother, Robert Kemp, of West Branch. Mrs. James was born May 19th, 1900, at Carmon, Ill. She graduated from the West Branch high school several years ago.
