DIED, of Heart Disease, of Springdale, Cedar County, Iowa on the 17th inst., LUCY A. MACY, wife of ELIAS MACY, and in the 25th year of her age. Besides her husband she leaves a son about 3 years old.

When the reaper death thrusts in his sickle and severs the fondest ties of earth, the bosom of the strong throb with emotion, and the heart that has borne up through the trials and tribulations of the tempestuous sea of life seems almost vanquished; but when it is remembered that the good pass to a brighter day that shrowdeth not itself in the shades of evening, nor goeth down the western slope, then there is a calmer feeling wrought through the instrumentality of Hope, Faith, Love and Remembrance.
