25 July 1867 - The Tipton Advertiser

SUDDEN DEATH - It is our painful duty to chronicle the death of Mr. Frederic Horn, an old and highly respected citizen of this place. On last Monday morning he went out to his stable, a few rods from his house, and was soon afterward discovered lying at the stable door, in a perfectly helpless and apparently lifeless condition. Help was called and he was immediately carried to the house, a physician summoned, and everything done to restore respiration, but all efforts were fruitless, and before the physician arrived the vital spark had become extinct. Mr. Horn had not been well for two days previous to his death, yet was able to travel about. Physicians concur in the opinion that his sudden death was caused by disease of the heart. A short biographical notice of the deceased will appear in our next issue.
