Funeral services for Harold Helmold, age 53, a 25 year resident of Bennett, were held in the Frick Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Saturday. Mr. Helmold died Wednesday, Nov. 25 in his home after an illness of several months.

Rev. Mueller of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bennett officiated. Max Lauser was vocalist. Casket bearers were Elmer McQuillen, Harry Bachus, Harry Heisch, Glenn Holling, Norman Reginetter and Ivan Stiff. Burial was in the Durant cemetery.

Mr. Helmold was born in Bennett on Sept. 27, 1911 the son of Fred and Wilhelmina Helmold. He was united in marriage to Lenora Paustain on Dec. 12, 1936 in Davenport. Mr. Helmold was a buyer for Dubuque Packing Co. for a number of years. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Bennett.

Survivors include his wife, his father, Fred Helmold of Lowden; sons Richard and Ronald at home; and sisters Mrs. Sylvan Kleppe, Mrs. Walter Seebeck, both of Bennett, Mrs. Beryl Werling of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Hugo Schluter of Clarence.

His mother and one sister preceded in death.
