The remains of Mrs. J. A. Cook were brought to Clarence on Monday from Moville and after funeral services conducted by Rev. W. R. Emerson at the Dayton Valley church at 11 o'clock, the remains were laid to rest in the Valley cemetery beside those of her husband.

Elizabeth P. Hager was born Aug. 23, 1839, in Pennsylvania. Was married at Camptown, Pa., to J. A. Cook Oct. 31, 1857. Came to Clarence in 1874. Moved to Oxford Mills in 1875, and from there to Olin in 1897, where Mr. Cook died. Since his death Mrs. Cook has lived with her children, spending her last days with her daughter, Mrs. Z. Southwick at Moville, Iowa. Ten children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Cook. Of these four are now living: Mrs. Ladorney McCoy and Mrs. Charles Peet of Dows, Mrs. Z. Southwick of Moville and Geo. Cook of Birmingham.

She was converted in early life and joined the Wesleyan Methodist church. When she came to Iowa she united with the Methodist church and was a devoted, earnest member until she was transferred by death to the heavenly home Saturday, March 3, 1906. Her end was peaceful and triumphant. We may well say, "Let me die the death of the righteous, let my last end be like His."

Those relatives from a distance who came to attend the funeral were: Geo. Cook of Birmingham, Van Buren county; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Peet and wife of Dows; and Zirl Southwick of Moville, who accompanied the remains to Clarence. Mr. Cook departed for home last evening. The others will return home today.
