Funeral services for Frederick Wilson Koch, 72, Mechanicsville, were held Aug. 22, 1989 at the First Presbyterian church in Mechanicsville, with the Reverends Jaymee and David Glenn-Burns and the Rev. Dick Harberts officiating. Burial was in the Clarence cemetery.

Mr. Koch died Aug. 20 at the Mechanicsville Care Center following a long illness.

The son of Frederick and Wilamina Keseberg Koch, he was born April 6, 1917 in Clarence. He graduated from Clarence high school in 1934. He married Clara Henik and she died Jan. 28, 1970. He married Darlene Owens Trabon Oct. 26, 1970 in Cedar Rapids.

Mr. Koch farmed for 8 years in the Clarence area before moving to Mt. Vernon in 1952. He farmed there for 25 years before retiring in 1976. He moved to Mechanicsville in 1979.

He was a member of Patmos Masonic Lodge 155 and Consistory; the Order of the Eastern Star and was a member, trustee and elder of the First Presbyterian church in Mechanicsville. He was also a member of the El Kahir Shrine and the Shrine Clowns.

Mr. Koch is survived by his wife; a son, David, Adel; 3 stepsons, Greg Keith, Brighton; Dan Keith, Cedar Rapids and Jeffrey Trabon, Marion; a sister, Mrs. Warren Claney, Clarence; 3 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren and 6 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
