9 March 1905 - The Clarence Sun

Henry John August Huffmeister was born September 24, 1865, in Wendish Rembow, Mecklenburg Schwerin, Germany. At the age of eight years he came with his parents to this country. They settled at Clarence, Iowa, where Henry received his education in the public schools.

In his thirteenth year he was confirmed, thereby joining the Lutheran church, of which he has been a member ever since.

After his school years he was employed as a clerk in Clarence, from where he went to the western part of the state, and finally moved to the state of Wyoming, where he engaged in business for himself.

His health began to fail and he sold out his business and moved on a ranch. Last fall he was elected County Treasurer of Freemont county, Wyoming. He only had the office about three weeks as his old trouble grew worse. He died after a few days of intense suffering at Lander, Wyoming, February 17, 1905, aged 39 years, 5 months and 23 days.

He leaves his father, mother and one sister, who lose in him a loving and dutiful son and brother.
