Burial services were held in the West Branch cemetery Sunday afternoon for Mrs. Mary Lindsley, widow of John Lindsey, who died Friday at the home of her daughter Blanche at Burlington. She was past eighty years old.

Many of the Times readers will remember the Lindsley family, who lived in the home now owned by Dr. Matt Ware, during the many years Mr. Lindsley served as station agent at West Branch. They were prominent in the activities of the Presbyterian church, and the two girls, Jessie and Blanche, attended school here. After leaving West Branch they lived for a time at West Union, and for several years Mr. Lindsley was agent at Tipton. Later they lived at Grundy Center.

Both daughters and families, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Watkins and two sons of Grundy Center, Mr. and Mrs. John F. Loehr of Burlington, and relatives from Iowa City, as well as friends from Tipton, came to attend the last rites, conducted by the Rev. J. P. Gable.

Mary Evelina St. John, daughter of Lewis and Marsha St. John was born at Greenwood, Indiana, August 11th, 1861, she was the youngest of seven children. In infancy she moved with her parents to Vinton, Iowa, where she grew to womanhood. On Oct. 24th, 1882, she was united in marriage to John M. Lindsley, who preceeded her in death on January 7, 1932. TO this union was born three children, Mrs. Jessie Watkins of Grundy Center, Iowa, Blanche C. Loehr of Burlington, Iowa, and Chester who died in infancy.

Early in life Mrs. Lindsley united with the Presbyterian church where she still held her membership. Mrs. Lindsley was of frail health and during her life declined membership in Clubs in order to devote her strength to the service of her Maker. Since Mr. Lindsley's death she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. John F. Loehr in Burlington, where she passed to her eternal reward, May 22, 1942, at the age of 80 years, 9 months and 11 days.
