John Clausen who lived between Lowden and Wheatland, was in Lowden on Sunday night attending a lodge meeting and started to walk home on the railroad. He was struck by an east bound train about one mile east of Lowden and killed. The accident was not discovered till Monday morning when the body was found by the section men. The body was only bruised on the head and breast. Mr. Clausen carried $6000 life insurance. He was a brother-in-law of Henry Burmeister of Clarence.
