Last rites for Alba E. (Albie) Gaul, 80, were held at the Sheets and Son Funeral home May 22 with Varle Nietzel officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery, Mechanicsville. Pallbearers were Brad, Eric, Stan, Monte H. and Kenric Gaul and Scott and Brian Agne.

Mr. Gaul died at Mercy hospital, Iowa City May 18.

The son of George and Lucy Pfarr Gaul, he was born near Tipton July 11, 1900. A 1918 graduate of Tipton high school, he attended Brown's Business college, Davenport.

He was married to Alberta D. Herring at Tipton Sept. 28, 1923. The couple farmed for many years near Tipton before retiring.

He is survived by his wife, 4 daughters, Mrs. Tommy (Iola) Thompson, Colonial Beach, VA; Mrs. William (Bonnie) Agne, Glendale, AZ; Mrs. Wayne (Ginger) Mason, Garden Grove, CA, and Mrs. Edward (Felma) Brunsman, Phoenix, AZ; 2 sons, Kenneth and Richard, Tipton; 22 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and a brother, Victor, Tipton. He was preceded in death by a sister and 3 brothers.
