The remains of E. G. Filson were brought to Tipton Tuesday and laid to rest in the family lot in Masonic cemetery. Short services were held at the home of his sister, Mrs. W. R. Fields at 2:30 o'clock. A large number of boyhood friends of Mr. Filson assembled to pay last tributes of esteem nd respect.

Edward G. Filson resident of Burlington 32 years, died at his home at 1910 N. Ninth St. early Sunday morning. He was 61 years of age.

Mr. Filson was born in Tipton, Ia., Dec. 11, 1866, and was married here January 9, 1895, to Miss Jessie Armstrong, who survives. A year later the couple moved to Burlington. For many years he was a traveling representative, and until his health failed about a year ago he was a foreman at the Iowa Grain and Produce Co. of Burlington. He was a member of the Hawkeye Natives Association.

Surviving besides his widow are two daughters, Mrs. Lester Garrels, of Middleton, Iowa, and Helen Filson at home; one sister, Mrs. W. R. Fields, of Tipton; two brothers, W. H. Filson of Detroit, Mich. and I. H. Filson of Los Angeles, California and one granddaughter.
