Milton U. Hubler was born June 13, 1872, near Washington township, Schoolkill county, Pa., the son of William and Sarah Hubler. He came to Iowa with his parents at the age of ten and they lived at Mechanicsville, Iowa, where he attended school.

In 1882, they moved to a farm near Mechanicvsille where he spent his childhood.

He was united in marriage to Stella Margaret Marker of Cedar Bluffs, Iowa, Nov. 16, 1909. To this union 9 children were born: Maynard Hubler, West Branch; Mrs. Genevieve Williams, Mechanicsville; Willard Hubler, Wyoming, Iowa; Gilbert Hubler and William Hubler; West Branch; Kenneth Hubler, Lisbon; Mrs. Darlene Wells, Clarence; Mrs. Helen Walter, Tipton; Richard Hubler, West Branch.

"Dad" as he was known to his friends and neighbors was a kind and loving person and was always ready with a helping hand whenever sorrow or tragedy took place. He had been in failing health for a number of years, but bore his affliction with utmost patience and was never known to complain. He spent his entire illness at home at Cedar Valley where his loving wife took care of him through his illness of four years, where he quietly slipped away Jan. 20, 1955, having reached the age of 82 years, 8 months and 20 days.

He is survived by his wife, Stella and nine children, 26 grandchildren, 2 brothers Edward Hubler, Cedar Rapids and Victor Hubler, Tipton; 2 sisters Anna Hubler, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, Lila Bolith, Wisner, Nebr. and several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Jan. 23, 1955 at 2 o'clock in the Sheets & Dahn funeral home with Rev. A. C. Long officiating and interment in Tipton Masonic cemetery.
