A little daughter, Esther Mae, was born to Mr. and Mrs. John Sladek of Oasis neighborhood on Wednesday night of last week. Although Mrs. Sladek's friends knew that she was not getting along as well as hoped for, the news of her death early Sunday morning came as a grievous shock and sorrow.

She was a member of the local unit of the American Legion Auxiliary, and an interested worked in community affairs, as well as in other organizations to which she belonged. Her passing is regretted by many friends, who extend sympathy to the family.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon.
