Henry (Jack) Boettger, 81, Lowden, died Dec. 19 at 1:30 a.m. in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Edward Reichert near Lisbon where he had gone Dec. 16 to spend the winter months.

He was born Aug. 23, 1884 in Lowden, the son of Henry and Marie Bargmann Boettger. He received his education in the Lowden schools and as a young man learned the blacksmith trade in Tampico, Ill. He worked at this trade in western Iowa, Dakota, Lisbon and Lowden and several years before his retirement, he sharpened saws. He was married on July 18, 1907 to Louise Reinking. She preceded him in death in 1945.

Mr. Boettger was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America and Zion Untied Church of Christ.

He is survived by a son, Leroy, Lowden; a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Fern) Reichert, Lisbon; 3 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, 1 brother and 3 sisters.
