Mr. Charles J. Kautz, retired farmer and highly esteemed resident of Tipton the past several years,, passed away Wednesday afternoon at three o'clock. He was the son of Elizabeth Dorst and George Kautz, born December 30th, 1867, and died at the age of 73 years, 7 months and 27 days.

Surviving are his widow, two sons Elmer and Albert Kautz, and one daughter, Anna Kautz. Also several grandchildren and other relatives.

Funeral service will be held at the First Presbyterian church in this city at 2:30 Friday, the pastor, Rev. H. N. Poston officiating.

Interment will be in the Masonic cemetery west of Tipton.
