12 February 1920 - The West Branch Times

Ruth Marie Vincent was born in Cedar county, Iowa, June 29, 1899, and died February 3, 1920.

She was the daughter of Ida Belle and Dudley Vincent. When Ruth was four years old she moved with her parents to the farm south of Centerdale where she resided until eight months ago when she went to Oakdale for treatment. But she gradually weakened and passed away Tuesday morning.

Her mother died in 1906, leaving Ruth, a frail child of seven years, to the care of her two sisters, who faithfully and lovingly, performed this duty.

She attended the public school in Centerdale until the age of fourteen, but owing to her frail condition was unable to attend longer.

Ruth was of a quiet, retiring nature, fond of children and flowers, and only good can be said of her.

She leaves to mourn her loss--a father, two brothers, Harold and Melvin; two half-sisters, Mrs. Albert Schweitzer and Miss Lucy; two half-brothers, Otto and Everett; many other relatives and a host of friends.

The funeral service was conducted by Rev. Reece in the Centerdale Congregational church Thursday, February 5, at ten o'clock, with interment in the West Branch cemetery.
