16 March 1944 - The Clarence Sun

When he fell approximately 18 feet to a cement floor William Henry Goldsmith, 67, of 114 Topeka Street, Pasadena, Calif., was injured fatally last Thursday morning. The accident occurred at the Fiat Manufacturing Co., 32 South San Gabriel Boulevard, where he has been employed since the business was first started several years ago.

Mr. Goldsmith was working among some rafters in the ceiling above the main work room when he lost his balance and fell. The Emergency Hospital ambulance was summoned and the injured man was rushed to a hospital where he passed away a short time later without regaining consciousness.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Villa Goldsmith; a daughter, Mrs. Geraldine Meacham; a son, Verne Goldsmith, two grandchildren, three brothers and four sisters.

The funeral and burial took place at Pasadena.

"Goldie" was a well known resident of Clarence, having been employed here mostly as a carpenter. He went to California about the time he married Villa Rossman. Clarence people have known little of the family in the years that have passed.
