Nettie E. Brink, daughter of Marshall M. and Elizabeth Ball, was born in Massillon township, Cedar county, Iowa, August 20, 1863, and passed away at Maplewood hospital, St. Louis, Mo., February 10, 1944.

At an early age the family moved to a farm near Ames, Iowa, where her girlhood life was spent. She taught for many years in the rural schools of different Iowa counties.

On March 31st, 1897, she was united in marriage to Thomas E. Brink, who preceded her in death on December 9, 1942. The early Brink home was established in Massillon township. Since 1900 the family resided in Clarence.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Brink were members of the Methodist church. Mrs. Brink was interested in the whole program of the church to the end of her life.

Surviving are the two daughters, Mrs. Edwin Schluter of Clarence and Mrs. J. M. Conrow of Jefferson Barracks, Mo. Three grandchildren, Howard, Constance and Carol Conrow. One sister, Mrs. Lillie Gillett of Ames, and three brothers, W. W. Ball of Ames, R. W. Ball and Fred Ball of Boone, Iowa. Three brothers preceded her in death.

The funeral was held at the Methodist church on Sunday afternoon, Rev. A. B. Chamberlin officiating. The music was furnished by Miss Velma Schilling and Mrs. Irma Kelly, with Mrs. Earl Elijah accompanying. The pallbearers were Dewey Rhatigan, George Bixler, Henry Irons, Walter Kemmann, Wm. McClellan, C. G. Sawyer. Interment was in the Clarence cemetery.
