Vera Agnes Bock, daughter of Herman F. Bock and Minnie Moir Bock, was born Oct. 8, 1910, on a farm south of Mechanicsville, in Cedar county, Iowa, and passed away June 18, 1955 at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, Iowa, after a lingering illness.

Vera has spent most of her life in Mechanicsville, Iowa. When about 15 years of age she became a member of the First Presbyterian church. A graduate of the Mechanicsville consolidated school in the class of 1928. She attended Simpson college at Indianola, Iowa, for one year. She was a linotype operator for several years at the Pioneer Press in Mechanicsville and the Tipton Conservative at Tipton, Iowa.

She later went into the restaurant business with her brother Herbert in Mechanicsville. At the time of her death she was employed at the Quaker Oats Co. in Cedar Rapids.

Those who mourn her departure are one sister, Bertha G. Reece, of Iowa City, one brother Herbert L. Bock of Davenport; three nieces, Ellen Reece, Iowa City, Pamella Bock, Davenport, Kathryn Bock, Denver, Colo.; four nephews, Richard E. Reece, St. Louis, Mo., Don L. Reece, Iowa City, Bruce L. Bock, Charles William Bock, Davenport.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Funeral services were conducted June 21, 1955, at the Sheets & Dahn funeral home in Tipton, with Rev. William Tjaden of the First Presbyterian church of Mechanicsville officiating, and interment was made at Rose Hill cemetery, Mechanicsville.
