26 April 1945 - The Clarence Sun

Mrs. Frederick Boettcher, nee Louise Dettmann, was born in Gletzow, Staat Rehna, Germany, on June 18th, 1855.

She was baptized in infancy and in her 15th year was confirmed in the church at Rehna.

In the year 1874, she was married to Frederick Boettcher. They made their home in Germany for the first ten years of their married life but in 1884 with their three children came to America. They came directly to Clarence and have since that time made their home in Cedar county.

Mr. and Mrs. Boettcher were the parents of five children, one son and four daughters. One daughter, Mrs. Emma Frahm, preceded her mother in death and Mr. Boettcher was called to his eternal rest on May 7, 1900.

Mrs. Boettcher in January, 1938, went to Lowden to make her home with her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Ditz.

In spite of her advanced age, she was always in comparatively good health and it was only since last Thursday that she suffered from a cold and the infirmities of old age. Very peacefully, death came to her on Tuesday morning, April 24th.

She leaves to mourn her departure her son, William of Clarence; three daughters, Mrs. Anna Fehling of Lowden, Mrs. Frieda Goldsmith of Clarence, and Mrs. Hilda Ditz of Lowden; also other more distant relatives and friends.

Prayer services were held at the Beck funeral home at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday and at 2:00 p.m. at St. John's Evangelical and Reformed church with interment in St. John's cemetery. Rev. F. J. Mittler officiated at the services.
