The remains of Fred McNeil were brought to Clarence on Monday and buried in the Clarence cemetery. Born on July 1, 1860, to William and Sarah Barnes McNeil on the farm east of Clarence now owned by Henry Pruess, he was a resident of Clarence until 1907. He was station agent here for the C. & N-W. Ry. for a long period until 1907 when the family moved to Clinton where he continued with the railroad until about 1936 when the family moved to Wheaton, Ill. Here he died on last Thursday, March 1, in the 84th year of his life. He began work for the railroad in the 1880's and was retired in 1930.

Masonic services were held in the Consistory building at Clinton at 1 p.m. Monday and the funeral party came on to Clarence where burial services were conducted by Rev. A. B. Chamberlin at the cemetery. The pallbearers were brother Masons: H. A. Caldwell, Robert Kelly, Vern Freeman, Wayne Merritt, A. L. Kreinbring, George Hansen.

Mr. McNeil is survived by Mrs. McNeil, and daughter, Mrs. F. H. (Florence) Thompson of Chico, Calif., and son William McNeil, of Wheaton.
