William Marshall died at his home at Luverne, Minn., Tuesday, July 17, having been overcome by the heat while chasing a hog. He was also known to be afflicted with heart trouble.

Mr. Marshall was at West Branch three weeks ago to attend the funerals of his brother-in-law, John Bair of Rochester and Mrs. Jennie Scellars of this place. This was his first visit here for some time. His death came as a distinct shock to his family and friends. He was 64 years old.

Much of his life was spent in the Rochester and West Branch communities, but the past several years he had been engaged in farming near Luverne. His wife and one daughter survive him. There also remain four sisters, Mrs. Mary Bair of Rochester, Mrs. Lyda Billups of Hastings, Neb., Mrs. Mattie Lehman of Magnolia, Minn., and Mrs. Carrie Dillon, of Creston.

Funeral services were held at Luverne Friday.
