26 July 1934 - The West Branch Times

Harold Fred Howard, son of Fred and Alta Howard, was born northeast of Tipton, Iowa, April 28, 1915, and passed away at the home of his grandmother, Mrs. Rebecca Howard, Uncle Robert and Aunt Ethel Howard, with whom he had made his home the past fifteen years, Saturday July 21.

His father preceded him in death, March 22, 1926.

He is survived by his mother, Alta Stout, two sisters, Marguerite and Lois Mae and one brother, Robert.

Little Harold was of a sunny disposition and while his frail body was wracked with pain he always had a smile for those he loved, thus repaying the many years of care and devotion given him by his aged grandmother, Uncle Robert and Aunt Ethel.

Funeral services were held at the Cedar Bluff church at 2:00 o'clock Monday afternoon, conducted by Walter A. Martin, pastor of the Buchanan Union church. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery.

Those who came from a distance to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Hessell and sons Irwin and Ralph, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Schumacher of Garnavillo, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Miller and son Bobby of West Union, and Pearl Staley of Charter Oak.
