Emma Katherine Kahler, was born July 25, 1886, to Fred and Louise Albert, nee Witte.

On January 30, 1907, she was married to August Kahler and this union was blessed with three children.

The Kahler family lived in the Clarence community until the fall of 1939 when they moved to a farm near Mt. Vernon, Iowa.

Mrs. Kahler had been ill the past five months, and entered into rest on May 9, 1952 at the age of 65 years, 9 months and 14 days.

She was received into the membership of St. John's Evangelical & Reformed Church, Clarence, Iowa, through the rite of confirmation on April 8, 1900. She was also a member of Lynn Grove Presbyterian Ladies Aid.

The deceased is survived by her husband, August Kahler; one daughter, Pauline, Mrs. Harold Oldorf, Stanwood, Iowa; one son, Arnold Kahler, Mt. Vernon, Iowa; three grandchildren; one sister Mrs. Louie Toerber, Toronto, Iowa; three brothers: Louie and Henry Albert of Clarence and Frank Albert of Bennett.

She was preceded in death by one son, Lloyd, who passed away in infancy; also two sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services were held at the St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church here in Clarence on Monday, May 12th, 1952, at two o'clock with Reverend Edward J. Bowers officiating. Pallbearers were Glenn Strothers, Francis Davis, Merle McConaughy, Sherm Hanna, Herman Schmidt, Harvey Ellison.

Interment was made in the Clarence Cemetery.
