Fred Henry Frahm was born September 2, 1881 in Germany, to Fred and Elizabeth Bosky Frahm. He came with his parents to the United States in 1883 and settled at Davenport, Iowa.

He was married to Emma Boettecker on December 24, 1908, and this marriage was blessed with one daughter and four sons.

In 1910 the Frahm family began farming in Cedar County. In 1923 they moved to Clarence where Mr. Frahm operated a blacksmith and welding shop. About 11 years ago he moved to Dysart where he worked as an electric welder until January 7th when he was stricken with a light stroke.

Mr. Frahm passed away at Cedar Rapids on January 21, 1952, at the age of 70 years, 4 months and 19 days.

Mrs. Frahm preceded him in death on February 9, 1928.

The following children survive: Mrs. Leona Meier, Lowden, Freeman, Erwin and Norman Frahm, all of Clarence, Neil Frahm, of the U. S. Army in Germany; two sisters: Mrs. Bertha Grahm of Florida and Mrs. Ann Girard of Olin; two brothers: Otto Frahm of Stanwood and Rudolph Frahm of Cedar Rapids along with 3 grandchildren.

Funeral services were from the St. John's Evangelical and Reformed church in Clarence at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 25, 1952 with Rev. Edward Bowers conducting the service. In charge of the flowers were Mrs. Forrest Woode, Mrs. George Sheldon and Betty Lou Frahm. Music was by the mixed quartet of the church with Eleanor Conrad at the organ. Pallbearers were Ted Clemmens, Herbert Goldsmith, Wm. Kirchner, Owen Merrit, Henry Dircks, Elwood Bunge.

Interment was made in St. John's Cemetery.
