Jesse Klinkhammer, son of Henry and Amalie Klinkhammer, was born at Dixon, Iowa, in Scott County, May 24, 1868.

He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Gadke at Tipton, Iowa, on October 10, 1894.

The deceased had lived on his farm near Stanwood sixty years, with the exception of the past year when he went to make his home with his son, Ted, near Anamosa, Iowa, where he passed away on Saturday, January 5, 1952, at the age of 83 years, 7 months and 11 days.

Mrs. Klinkhammer passed away October 28, 1936. He was also preceded in death by one sister and four brothers.

Surviving are four daughters and one son: Mrs. Edith Schott, What Cheer, Iowa; Mrs. George Wollison, Stanwood, Iowa; Mrs. Charles Yeater, Mechanicsville, Iowa; Mrs. Edward Fall, Olin, Iowa; Theodore Klinkhammer, Anamosa, Iowa; also 18 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, January 8, 1952 at the Chapman Funeral Home, Clarence, Iowa, by the Rev. Edward J. Bowers, Pastor of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church. The music was furnished by Dorothy Claney and Anna Klatt accompanied by Mrs. J. B. Lane. In charge of the flowers were Norma Sievers and Mrs. Arthur Sherman. Pallbearers were Thos. Garton, George Thumma, William Klein, Harry Sievers, Charles Eiler, Wilbur Fowley. Interment was made in the Clarence Cemetery.
